Mary Lou Delahanty has been successfully litigating cases since 1983. Her primary area of concentration is environmental law.

The scope of Ms. Delahanty's litigation experience ranges from landfills to indoor air quality cases. She has litigated multimillion dollar cases cost effectively, and has achieved settlements of several million dollars for her clients. She has litigated against insurance carriers on behalf of her clients to obtain the neccessary funds to clean up their contaminated properties.

In her over 23 years of experience, Mary Lou Delahanty has successfully litigated numerous cases including:

  • Obtaining a dismissal for former shareholders of a dissolved corporation in a landfill clean up and natural resource damages case.
  • Getting all of her clients' attorneys' fees reimbursed in the prosecution of an insurance coverage case involving a toxic tort lawsuit filed by 721 plaintiffs against her clients.
  • Successful litigation which resulted in obtaining all funds necessary to clean up contamination related to her clients' business operations.
  • Obtaining a settlement in excess of $13 million for her clients which included reimbursement of attorneys' fees.
  • Obtaining a $1.2 million settlement in an eminent domain case with environmental contamination alleged to be $2 million and successfully obtaining the condemnor's agreement to assume the $2 million in alleged environmental liability.

Mary Lou Delahanty has also handled non litigated matters involving wetlands cases, NJDEP permit cases, ISRA compliance, Spill Act, Sanitary Landfill Closure Act, Water Pollution Control Act, underground storage tanks. Her clients include Fortune 400 companies ranging from real estate developers to manufacturers. Ms. Delahanty has written extensively in the area of environmental law.
