SZAFERMAN LAKIND LAW FIRM
CELEBRATES 30^TH ANNIVERSARY

(November 9, 2007) Szaferman, Lakind, Blumstein, Blader and Lehmann, P.C. is celebrating 30 years of providing legal services to the residents of Mercer County. The law firm traces its roots to 1977, when Barry Szaferman, Arnold Lakind, and Jeffrey Blumstein, three State Deputy Attorneys General from North Jersey with no clients but plenty of courage, decided to take a leap of faith and open their own practice in Lawrenceville. Their firm, which began with three lawyers and one secretary, now numbers twenty-seven lawyers and thirty-five support staff.

A major factor in the firm's growth came in 1985, with the addition of Steven Blader, who specializes in personal injury law. In the late 80s, Barry Szaferman was appointed as Mercer County Counsel in the administration of County Executive Bill Mathesius, and Arnold Lakind litigated the landmark case of Ayers v. Jackson Twp., a water pollution case, for which his clients received a jury verdict of $15.6 million.

The firms continued to expand through the 90's, adding practice areas and increasing its client base. Today, 30 years after the firm's founding, Szaferman Lakind's lawyers practice in 15 specialty areas, including Family Law, Litigation, Real Estate, Personal Injury, Corporate and Business Law; they handle complex litigation, including two 2007 class action cases which resulted in recoveries for clients of over $40 million in settlement value; and ten of Szaferman Lakind's attorneys have been recognized by their peers as 2007 New Jersey Super Lawyers and Rising Stars!

The law firm's size and areas of expertise may have grown, but their commitment to representing central Jersey's residents and local businesses remains. "From day one we were committed to providing the very best legal advice and representation to our clients in Mercer County and the State," managing partner, Barry D. Szaferman noted.
