If you are a party to litigation whether the plaintiff or defendant, it is likely that your deposition will be taken at some point during the case. A deposition provides the other party with an opportunity to ask questions and elicit information before a case goes to trial. Your testimony is given under oath and everything that is said is taken down by a court reporter.
