Robert L. Lakind
Robert L. Lakind is a member of Szaferman Lakind’s Business and Litigation groups. Prior to joining the firm, Rob practiced at two international law firms in New York City and Philadelphia.
Rob is a former airline pilot who flew international and domestic flights and now as an attorney practices aviation law. Through his career, he has acquired extensive knowledge and experience regarding compliance with the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and issues that arise in aviation operations. Rob has represented 135 operators, insurance companies, buyers and sellers of aircraft, pilots, a flight school, airports and other companies involved in aviation. Further, Rob has lectured at industry attended events and also provided instruction and training to other attorneys. Rob’s aviation work includes representing clients in their dealings with the FAA and NTSB. Further, Rob has represented clients in litigation. Additionally, Rob has also worked with clients on corporate transactions, including in the buying, selling, financing and leasing of aircraft. Rob, who has a Masters of Law in Taxation from New York University School of Law, has also advised clients on taxation issues related to aircraft. Further, Rob, working with other attorneys in the firm, has advised clients on the buying and selling of aviation businesses.
Rob also works in the area of commercial real estate. Rob has worked with banks, developers, commercial property owners and individuals on a variety of real estate matters, including the acquisition and sale of properties, financing transactions and regulatory issues. Rob has also worked with clients on a variety of other corporate matters, including compliance with the tax code and dealing with employee benefit matters. Rob has been quoted in Ignites, a service of the Financial Times, as well as a BNA publication.
Rob is admitted to the New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania Bars. He received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from American University, Washington College of Law, and a Masters of Law in Taxation from New York University School of Law. He received his B.A. in Economics from The George Washington University.
