Janine G. Bauer has successfully represented large corporate and medium to small business clients in environmental matters, including site remediation and complex, multiparty environmental litigation, for over 35 years. Janine also advises clients with respect to the environmental aspects of purchase, sale, lease, option, merger and other corporate transactions. Janine is familiar with all aspects of soil, groundwater, surface water and sediment contamination matters and compliance, cost recovery and enforcement actions. Janine is also experienced with statutory transportation and infrastructure permits and approval processes.
Janine is also an experienced land use and zoning attorney, handling development and redevelopment matters, historic preservation and historic tax credits, and brownfields redevelopment. Janine’s expertise with site remediation, cost recovery, and transportation, infrastructure and permitting issues create efficiency for clients looking to develop urban sites with legacy contamination and other problems that require permits and approvals from agencies and coordination of various engineering, geotech, environmental, storm water, vapor intrusion and other experts to navigate the process.
Janine’s experience also includes representing plaintiffs in toxic tort litigation including asbestos exposure and talc-induced mesothelioma in New Jersey’s mass tort litigation located in Middlesex County, N.J. and medical surveillance cases. Janine is admitted to and regularly practices in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York and Florida and is admitted in several federal courts within those jurisdictions. Janine is a strategic and experienced trial lawyer, and a former prosecutor in Mercer County, N.J. Janine is also a registered legislative agent in New Jersey, and advises municipalities and other public entities and private clients on various matters. She currently represents four municipalities on historic preservation matters.
