Jeffrey M. Hall

Of Counsel

Jeff serves as Of Counsel within Szaferman Lakind’s Business Law Group. Jeff concentrates his legal practice in land use matters, redevelopment, eminent domain, tax appeals, lender representation, commercial real estate transactions and outdoor advertising law.

Jeff’s 40 years practicing law includes a private practice as a sole practitioner and more recently a Partner resident in major law firms in the greater Princeton, N.J. region.

Starting his career as a N.J. Deputy Attorney General, he advised the New Jersey Department of Transportation where he tried complex highway contracts, civil rights and eminent domain cases; conducted an appellate practice and advised the agency, including the Office of Outdoor Advertising Services. After transitioning to private practice, Jeff served as general counsel to the New Jersey Outdoor Advertising Association and was a key player in the passage of New Jersey’s Roadside Sign Control Act, and the implementation of New Jersey’s outdoor advertising regulations. He acted as lead counsel in Bell v. Stafford Township, 110 NJ. 384 (1998) and R.C. Maxwell Co. v. Galloway Twp., 145 NJ. 547 (1996), landmark cases promoting the industry.

A past Board member of the Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce, Jeff currently serves on the Board of the MIDJersey Center for Economic Development. He also serves on several charitable boards including the New Jersey State Advisory Board of The Salvation Army, the Honorary Board of the New Jersey Children’s Home Society, the Board of the Trenton Area YMCA, and the Board of the Morris Hall Foundation. As former president of both the Mercer Family of YMCAs and the Trenton Area YMCA, Jeff served as a delegate to the 2007 National Assembly of Y-USA.

In the past, Jeff actively participated in administrative and coaching positions in several Hopewell Valley youth sports organizations. Jeff currently volunteers time to several charities such as the Boys and Girls Club of Mercer County, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Mercer County and Isles, Inc., a community development organization.

Jeff graduated from Colgate University and Georgetown University Law Center and is a member of the Bars of New Jersey, Connecticut, U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Third Circuit.
