Upon settling your case, you will need to go to court to make a record of the understanding of the resolution of your claim. You’ll receive a copy of the court order when you leave, and the insurance company will have 60 days to pay you the money determined in your settlement.

You’ll receive your first payment, and this could be a lump sum for the entire amount, or it may be a lump sum followed by additional payments. This will depend on the settlement terms and the settlement amount.

If you do not receive the specified amount within 60 days, your lawyer will return to court to file a motion to enforce the settlement, and you should then receive the remaining money due to you. Watch the video to learn more.
